Little Millet Upma
Ingredients
- 2 cup Little Millet
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 4 tbsp Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
- 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - diced
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 2 tbsp Green Peas, Fresh / பச்சைப் பட்டாணி
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி
- 2 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
Instructions
- Wash and clean little millet well
- Heat oil in a pan
- Temper mustard, uard dhal, channa dhal, curry leaves and fry well
- Add green chili, green peas, salt, coconut, coriander and saute well
- Add 4 cups of water and bring to boil
- When water boils add little millet and stir well
- Simmer the flame to medium and cook well by closing the pan
- Add little more oil and allow the upma to roast at the bottom, if required
- Serve hot along with coconut/coriander chutney
