Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Jackfruit seed / பலாக் கொட்டை - deskinned and randomly crushed
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்

for Tempering

  • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்

for Grinding

  • 2 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Rice / அரிசி
  • 4 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
  • ½ cup Coconut / தேங்காய் - grated

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook crushed jack fruit seed with as little water as possible
  • Dry roast 2tsp of chana dhal, rice, dry red chili, coconut
  • Grind dry roasted ingredients into fine powder
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard and allow it to splutter
  • Add channa dhal, fresh curry leaves and fry until golden brown
  • Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, mix well
  • Add cooked jack fruit seed and cook well
  • Add salt, mix well
  • Add the ground ingredients, mix well
  • Simmer the Flame and cook closed for about 5min
  • Serve hot with any rice item
