Ingredients
- 500 gm Jackfruit seed / பலாக் கொட்டை - deskinned and randomly crushed
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
for Tempering
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
for Grinding
- 2 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Rice / அரிசி
- 4 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
- ½ cup Coconut / தேங்காய் - grated
Instructions
- Pressure cook crushed jack fruit seed with as little water as possible
- Dry roast 2tsp of chana dhal, rice, dry red chili, coconut
- Grind dry roasted ingredients into fine powder
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add mustard and allow it to splutter
- Add channa dhal, fresh curry leaves and fry until golden brown
- Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, mix well
- Add cooked jack fruit seed and cook well
- Add salt, mix well
- Add the ground ingredients, mix well
- Simmer the Flame and cook closed for about 5min
- Serve hot with any rice item
