Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Butternut Squash - flesh with out seeds
  • 1 tbsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 tbsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 4 – 5 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
  • ½ inch ball Tamarind / புளி
  • ½ tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil / நல்லெண்ணெய்

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add urad dhal, channa dhal, red chili and fry them until golden brown, keep side
  • In the same pan sauté flesh of pumpkin until soggy
  • Add tamarind, asafoetida and fry a litle, allow it to cool
  • Grind them in a mixer into a smooth paste
  • Add Salt and mix well
  • Serve along with dosa or rice
