Rösti or rööschti (Alemannic German: [ˈrøːʃti]) is a Swiss dish consisting mainly of potatoes, in the style of a fritter. It was originally a breakfast dish, commonly eaten by farmers in the canton of Bern, but is now eaten all over Switzerland and around the world. Source: Wikipedia

Ingredients
  

  • 4 nos Potato / உருளைக் கிழங்கு - boiled, peeled n grated
  • 50 gm Gruyère Cheese - grated (Optional)
  • 50 gm Butter / வெண்ணெய்
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil / ஆலிவ் எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a heavy bottomed pan
  • Add potato, salt, mix and level it well
  • Cook in medium flame for 10~15min until the bottom of the rösti well roasted
  • Now cover with a lid and turn the pan upside down gently so that rösti can be reversed
  • Continue to cook in medium flame for 10~15min until the bottom of rösti well roasted
  • Top the rösti with gruyère cheese and bake it in 200°C pre-heated oven for 5min
  • Cut into slices

Notes

Serve hot
