Black Chana Sundal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Chana, Black
- 1 tbsp Coconut / தேங்காய் - shredded
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
Instructions
- Soak black chana in adequate water for about 4hours
- Add a pinch of salt and pressure cook for 1 whistle
- Drain water and keep aside
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add mustard and allow it to splutter
- Add urad dhal and fry until golden brown
- Add fresh curry leaves, dry red chili and fry well
- Add black chana and mix well
- Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and mix well
- Sauté until the residue water dries up
- Serve hot
