French Beans Spicy Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm French Beans, Fresh
  • 2 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - medium sized
  • 3 – 5 pod Garlic / பூண்டு
  • 3 – 5 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
  • 50 gm Peanut / வேர்க் கடலை - fried
  • 2 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள் - adjust to your spice level
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 50 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை

Instructions
 

  • Wash and cut the beans into small pieces(about 0.75cm length)
  • Cut Onion into fine pieces
  • Heat 10ml oil in a pan
  • Season 5gm of mustard, urad dhal, chana dhal and red chili
  • Add turmeric powder and stir well
  • Add onion and fry till it turns translucent
  • Add cut beans now
  • Add salt and stir well and allow to boil in medium flame
  • Mean while mash the garlic and Jeera to make it a coarse paste
  • Grind Groundnut.
  • Once beans is fully cooked, add the garlic, jeera paste
  • Add groundnut and red chili powder
  • Add rest oil and let the garlic/beans mix little roast
  • Garnish with curry leaves
  • Eat hot with any rice item
