Paruppurandai Moor Kuzhambu
Ingredients
- 1 cup Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு - soaked for 30min [for paruppurundai]
- 3 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
- 2 cup Curd / தயிர் - churned
- 3 tbsp Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
- 2 cup Spinach leaves / பசலைக்கீரை - chopped
- 1 tsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
- 4 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
- 1 tsp Coriander seed / தனியா
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 inch Ginger / இஞ்சி
- 1 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 2 cup Water / தண்ணீர்
Instructions
- Drain and grind channa dhal, red chili into coarse paste
- Steam it for about 10min
- Make equal sized balls, keep aside
- Soak channa dhal, coriander seed, green chili, cumin in water for 10min
- Grind above along with coconut, ginger, turmeric powder into fine paste
- Heat oil in a pan
- Transfer the ground paste into a pan
- Add salt, spinach, water and to a boil
- Add curd and mix well, add little water depending on the consistency you want
- Add the channa balls, bring to a boil and switch off the flame
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add mustard, asafoetida, curry leaves and fry well
- Mix it with the kuzhambu
- Serve hot with rice
