Tomato Pachchadi
Ingredients
- 4 nos Tomato / தக்காளி - finely chopped
- 1 lemon size Tamarind extract / புளிக் கரைசல்
- 4 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
- 1 cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 2 tbsp Jaggery / வெல்லம் - grated
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி
- 2 tsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan
- Temper mustard, curry leaves in it and allow it to crackle
- Add turmeric powder, tomato, salt and cook well
- Meanwhile grind tamarind, green chili, coconut into a fine paste, add as minimum water as possible
- Add ground paste to cooked tomato, mix well and allow to boil, add little water if required
- When boils add jaggery, mix and allow to boil for 5min
- Garnish with coriander leaves
- Serve hot with hot rice
