Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Basmati Rice / பாசுமதி அரிசி - cooked
  • 2 nos Lemon / எலுமிச்சம் பழம்
  • 2 tbsp Peanut / வேர்க் கடலை
  • 1 tsp Ginger / இஞ்சி - chopped
  • 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - long slit
  • 2 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
  • 2 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil / நல்லெண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - chopped

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Temper mustard seeds and fry channa dhal
  • Add curry leaves, ginger, green chili, red chili and fry them well
  • Add peanuts and fry them well
  • Add asafoetida, turmeric powder and switch off the flame
  • Add the above with cooked rice and add salt
  • Squeeze the lemon juice over the rice and gently mix well, so that the rice does not get broken
  • Garnish with coriander leaves

Notes

Serve along with any curries or gravies
