Ingredients
- ½ cup Rice / அரிசி
- ¼ cup Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 1 pinch Food Color - red
- ¾ cup Sugar, White / சர்க்கரை, வெள்ளை
- 2 cup Water / தண்ணீர்
- ½ tsp Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய் - powdered
- 1 pinch Baking powder
- 500 ml Oil / எண்ணெய் - for deep frying
Instructions
- Soak rice and urad dhal for 2hours
- Grind it into a smooth paste
- Add food color, baking powder and mix well, keep aside
- Boil water in a pan
- Add sugar, cardamom powder into it
- Boil them until you get the sugar syrup into one thread consistency
- Switch off and keep aside
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying
- Deep fry the batter by dropping small droplets into oil
- When fried drain them into kitchen towel so that excess oil is absorbed
- Soak them in the sugar syrup, the fried balls should drain up all the sugar syrup
