Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Rice / அரிசி
  • ¼ cup Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 pinch Food Color - red
  • ¾ cup Sugar, White / சர்க்கரை, வெள்ளை
  • 2 cup Water / தண்ணீர்
  • ½ tsp Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய் - powdered
  • 1 pinch Baking powder
  • 500 ml Oil / எண்ணெய் - for deep frying

Instructions
 

  • Soak rice and urad dhal for 2hours
  • Grind it into a smooth paste
  • Add food color, baking powder and mix well, keep aside
  • Boil water in a pan
  • Add sugar, cardamom powder into it
  • Boil them until you get the sugar syrup into one thread consistency
  • Switch off and keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan for deep frying
  • Deep fry the batter by dropping small droplets into oil
  • When fried drain them into kitchen towel so that excess oil is absorbed
  • Soak them in the sugar syrup, the fried balls should drain up all the sugar syrup
