Palak Paneer
Ingredients
- 2 bunch Spinach leaves / பசலைக்கீரை - washed and strained
- 250 gm Paneer
- 1 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - sliced
- 1 nos Tomato / தக்காளி - finely chopped
- 10 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு
- 5 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
- 3~5 nos Ginger / இஞ்சி
- 1 inch piece Garlic paste / பூண்டு விழுது
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seed / வெந்தயம்
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 50 ml Fresh Cream / க்ரீம்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 2 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
Instructions
- Blanch spinach for about 5min, allow it to cool
- Grind it in a mixer into coarse paste
- Heat 1tsp of oil in a pan
- Sauté onion, green chilli, cashew nuts, fenugreek seeds well and allow it to cool
- Grind it in a blender into fine paste
- Heat rest of oil
- Add ginger and garlic paste and sauté for a min
- Add tomato and sauté it until mushy and mashable
- Add onion, cashew paste, garam masala and sauté well
- Add spinach puree, salt and mix well allow it to cook and boil
- Add paneer cubes and mix gently such that the cubes does not break
- Cook for 2min so that the masala taste seeps into paneer
- Pour fresh cream over it and mix well
- Bring to a boil
- Serve hot with naan or roti or even rice
