Conjeevaram Idli
Ingredients
for Seasoning
- 1 tsp Ginger / இஞ்சி - finely chopped
- 1 tsp Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - finely chopped
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி
- 10 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு - crushed
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Black Pepper / மிளகு - crushed
- 2 tbsp Carrot / காரெட் - finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add mustard and allow it to splutter
- Add channa dhal, urad dhal, fry until golden brown
- Add curry leaves and fry a little
- Pour them into the batter, keeping the oil
- Add cashew nut and fry until golden brown
- Pour them with the oil into the batter
- Add carrot, black pepper, mix well
- Pour the batter into greased idli molds
- Steam it for 10min and additionally 5min in low flame
- Remove them from the mold
- Garnish with coriander leaves
- Serve hot with coconut chutney
