Lyde
Ingredients
- 1 cup Wheat flour (atta)
- 5 tsp Sugar, White / சர்க்கரை, வெள்ளை
- 2 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
- 2 nos Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய் - powdered
- ½ cup Water / தண்ணீர்
- 250 ml Oil / எண்ணெய் - for frying
Instructions
- Heat water in a pan
- Dissolve sugar in it
- Stir until the sugar syrup becomes little thick
- Add cardamom powder, stir well
- Add the above syrup, ghee in wheat flour and knead it into a dough
- Divide into 8-10 equal balls
- Roll each balls into thin long stripes
- Roll the stripes randomly so that it looks like knotted stripes or something
- Fry them in oil (or ghee) until golden brown
- Serve hot or cold
