Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Papaya, Raw / பப்பாளிக் காய் - peeled n cut into ½inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு - 1tsp
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard, allow it to splutter
  • Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves, raw papaya, stir fry
  • Sprinkle little water, close cook, for a couple of minutes
  • Add about ½cup of water
  • Simmer it for another 15min, until papaya cooks tender
  • Add coconut, garam masala, mix well

Notes

Serve hot along with any rice item
