Ingredients
  

  • 2 bunches Agathi Keerai / அகத்திக் கீரை
  • 50 gm Rice / அரிசி
  • 5 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
  • 50 gm Sugar, White / சர்க்கரை, வெள்ளை
  • 2 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast rice, red chili until fragrant
  • Coarse grind it, keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard, allow it to splutter
  • Add channa dhal, urad dhal, fry until golden brown
  • Add agathi keerai, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt, sprinkle little water, close cook for 5 min
  • Once cooked, add sugar, ground masala, mix well

Notes

Serve hot along with hot rice, sambar
