Khara Bath
Ingredients
- 2 cup Wheat Rava - roasted
- 1 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - chopped
- 1 cup Chopped vegetables - Potato, Carrot, Beans, Peas
- 2 tsp Vaangi Baath Masala
- 2 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 4 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - slit
- 2 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி
- 10 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan
- Add mustard, allow it to splutter
- Add channa dhal, urad dhal, fry until golden
- Add curry leaves, green chili, dry red chili, asafoetida, turmeric powder, fry well
- Add onion, fry until translucent
- Add vegetables, salt, fry until soft
- Add 3~4 cups of water, bring to a boil
- Add rava little by little, stir the mix thoroughly such that no lumps are formed
- Once mixed well, simmer the heat, close cook for 2~3min
Notes
Serve hot along with coconut chutney and/or sambar
