Long beans Mezhukku Puratti

Ingredients
- 500 gm Long Beans / காராமணி
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 2 tsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
Instructions
- Wash and cut the long beans into 1inch pieces
- Heat coconut oil in a pan
- Temper mustard and channa dhal
- Add curry leaves, turmeric power, asafoetida
- Add the long beans and cook well until the long beans are well cooked [do not add water to cook]
Notes
Variation
- If you like, you may add little spices [grind small onion, garlic, red chili] and sauté them before adding the long beans
- This can be done with French Beans as well
