Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Long Beans / காராமணி
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 2 tsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste

Instructions
 

  • Wash and cut the long beans into 1inch pieces
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan
  • Temper mustard and channa dhal
  • Add curry leaves, turmeric power, asafoetida
  • Add the long beans and cook well until the long beans are well cooked [do not add water to cook]

Notes

Variation
  • If you like, you may add little spices [grind small onion, garlic, red chili] and sauté them before adding the long beans
  • This can be done with French Beans as well
