500 gm Long Beans / காராமணி 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு 2 tsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய் 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள் 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம் 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
Wash and cut the long beans into 1inch pieces
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Temper mustard and channa dhal
Add curry leaves, turmeric power, asafoetida
Add the long beans and cook well until the long beans are well cooked [do not add water to cook]
Variation
If you like, you may add little spices [grind small onion, garlic, red chili] and sauté them before adding the long beans
This can be done with French Beans as well
