Papaya Halwa
Ingredients
- 750 gm Semi-ripen Papaya - grated
- 2½ cup Sugar, White / சர்க்கரை, வெள்ளை
- 4 nos Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய் - powdered
- 1 pinch Edible camphor / பச்சைக் கற்பூரம் - powdered
- 10 – 15 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு - roasted golden
- 3 – 4 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
Instructions
- Heat a pan
- Add grated papaya and cook it in medium flame for 10min, stirring occasionally
- Add sugar and stir continuously until the mix solidifies well [careful the papaya and sugar mix will splutter a lot]
- Add cardamom powder, powdered edible camphor and mix well
- Add ghee and stir well until the ghee is fully absorbed by the halwa
- Add roasted cashew nuts
- Serve hot (preferably) or cold
