Aloo Fry Curry
Ingredients
- 500 gm Potato / உருளைக் கிழங்கு - long thinly cut
- 2 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள் - adjust to your spice level
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder - optional
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil / நல்லெண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add mustard and allow it to splutter
- Add channa dhal and urad dhal and fry well until golden brown
- Simmer the flame
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, curry leaves and fry for few seconds
- Add potato little by little and mix well
- Allow the potato to cook well
- Add asafoetida, garam masala(optional) and mix well
- Allow the potato to roast at bottom
- Turn the potato if you want to roast on all sides
- Serve hot with any rice items
