Cumin Rice with Tomato
Ingredients
- 2 cup Basmati Rice / பாசுமதி அரிசி
- 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - slit
- 1 tbsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
- 2 nos Tomato / தக்காளி - chopped
- 1 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - chopped
- 5 pod Garlic / பூண்டு - chopped
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - chopped
- 3 tbsp Olive oil / ஆலிவ் எண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 1 tsp Black Pepper / மிளகு - freshly ground
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add cumin and allow it to splutter
- Add garlic and sauté until golden brown
- Add onion and sauté until translucent
- Add green chili, tomato, salt, pepper and little water and cook well
- Add 3~4cups of water and bring to a boil
- Add rice and cook well until tender
- Add little extra water if the rice is not cooked well
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves
- Serve hot
