Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Thoor dhal / துவரம் பருப்பு
  • ½ cup Moong Dhal / பயத்தம் பருப்பு
  • ½ cup Masoor dhal
  • 2 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - grated
  • 4 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - sliced
  • ½ tsp Ginger / இஞ்சி - grated
  • ½ tbsp Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
  • 1 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள்
  • 5 - 6 tbsp Butter / வெண்ணெய்
  • 1 tso Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 nos Lemon / எலுமிச்சம் பழம்

Instructions
 

  • Mix and wash all dhals well, and soak for 30 minutes
  • Pressure cook till soft but not overcooked (approx. 3 whistles)
  • While its hot, mash a little with the back of a spoon
  • Heat butter in a deep pan
  • Add cumin seeds, allow to splutter
  • Add onion, ginger, green chili and stir fry till soft
  • Add red chili powder and salt
  • Add dhal and mix well
  • Bring to a boil
  • Simmer for 3~4 minutes
  • Garnish with chopped coriander
  • Squeeze lemon juice
  • Serve hot with rice and/or roti
