French Toast
French toast, also known as eggy bread, gypsy toast, or omelette bread is a dish of bread soaked in beaten eggs and then fried. -Source: Wikipedia
Ingredients
- 8 slices Bread - preferably thick slices
- 6 tbsp Corn flour
- 4 drop Vanilla extract
- 8 tbsp Sugar, White / சர்க்கரை, வெள்ளை
- 50 gm Butter / வெண்ணெய்
- 1 cup Milk / பால்
Instructions
- Grind 2tbsp of sugar in a mixer
- Mix 30gm of butter and 2tbsp of sugar and make it a paste
- Add 4tbsp of sugar in warm milk
- Slowly add corn flour and mix well
- Add vanilla essence to the mix
- Heat a non stick pan and grease it with butter
- Soak the bread in the mix and toast it well in medium flame [30~45sec per side]
- Coat the sugar and butter mix over the toasted bread
- Ice it with powdered sugar
- Serve hot with blue berry jam

Variation
* Instead of corn flour you may use custard powder too
