Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup Moong Dhal / பயத்தம் பருப்பு - cooked
  • 2 nos Potato / உருளைக் கிழங்கு - cooked, peeled and mashed
  • 2 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - long cut
  • 4 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - long slit
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice / எலுமிச்சை சாறு
  • 1 tsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய்
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - chopped

to Grind

  • ¼ cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 4 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய்
  • 1 tsp Fennel seed / சோம்பு
  • 2 pod Garlic / பூண்டு

to temper

  • 1 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick / லவங்கப் பட்டை
  • 1 nos Bay leaf, Dry
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை

Instructions
 

  • Grind coconut, green chili, fennel seeds, garlic into fine paste
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Temper with mustard
  • Add turmeric powder, bay leaf, curry leaves, cinnamon and fry well
  • Add onion and sauté well until transparent
  • Add 2cups of water and bring to boil
  • Add cooked moong dhal, mashed potato, ground masala, salt and mix well
  • Garnish with coconut oil and coriander leaves
  • Serve hot with rice, dosai or roti
