Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Lobia - soaked for 2hours
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள்
  • 1 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
  • 1 tsp Mango powder, Dry
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 10 nos Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 2 tbsp Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil / தேங்காய் எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு

Instructions
 

  • Soak karamani in adequate water for about 2 hours
  • Add a pinch of salt and pressure cook for 1 whistle
  • Drain excess water, keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard and allow it to splutter
  • Add urad dhal and fry until golden brown
  • Add curry leaves, red chili and fry a little
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, asafoetida and mix well
  • Add cooked karamani and mix well
  • Add amchur and mix well
  • Add coconut an mix well
  • Serve hot
