Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup Moong Dhal / பயத்தம் பருப்பு - Soaked for 1hr
  • 1 cup Carrot / காரெட் - grated
  • 1 cup Cucumber / வெள்ளரிக் காய் - grated
  • ½ cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி

for Tempering

  • 10 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 2 – 3 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
  • 10 nos Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை

Instructions
 

  • Drain water from moong dhal thoroughly and keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard and allow it to splutter
  • Add channa dhal, urad dhal, green chili, fresh curry leaves, asafoetida
  • Fry well until channa dhal & urad dhal turn golden brown
  • Add this moong dhal and mix well
  • Add grated carrot, cucumber, coconut, salt and mix well
  • Add lemon juice and mix well
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves
