Methi Thepla
Ingredients
- 1½ cup Whole Wheat flour
- ½ cup Besan flour / கடலை மாவு
- 1 cup Fenugreek leaves, Fresh / வெந்தயக் கீரை - chopped
- ½ tsp Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - powder, adjust to your spice level
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- ½ tsp Cumin powder / சீரகத் தூள்
- ½ tsp Coriander powder / மல்லித் தூள்
- ½ ts[ Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 100 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
- 4 tbsp Sour Yogurt
- ½ inch Ginger / இஞ்சி - crushed
- 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - crushed
Instructions
- Add wheat flour, besan, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, ginger, green chili, fenugreek leaves, mix well
- Add curd, mix and knead into a dough
- Make into 1inch balls
- Roll the balls into 5~6inch thepla
- Heat a tawa to medium hot
- Cook thepla over medium hot tawa
- Flip the thepla once bubbles start showing up
- Apply oil and spread over thepla
- Flip the thepla again, apply oil and spread over thepla
- Once dark brown spots start showing up remove thepla from tawa
- Repeat the same for all thepla
Notes
Serve methi thepla with yougurt or any pickle
