Mushroom Pepper Fry
Ingredients
- 250 gm Mushroom / காளான் - chopped
- 200 gm Onion / வெங்காயம் - chopped
- 1 tbsp Garlic / பூண்டு - minced
- 1 tbsp Ginger / இஞ்சி - minced
- 2 nos Capsicum / குடை மிளகாய் - chopped (optional)
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper / மிளகு - adjust to your spice level
- 1 tsp Fennel seed / சோம்பு
- 1 tsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 25 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
for tempering
- 1 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
- 1 tsp Shahi Jeera
- 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - slit
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
Instructions
- Crush black pepper, fennel, cumin into fine powder and keep aside
- Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and sauté well
- Add ginger and fry a little
- Add onion and sauté until brown
- Add mushroom, ¼cup of water and close cook for 10min
- Add salt, crushed pepper, fennel, cumin powder and mix well
- Heat ghee in pan, add shahi jeera and allow it to splutter
- Add green chili, fresh curry leaves and fry a little
- Pour into mushroom pepper fry
- Serve hot along with rice or roti
