Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Oats
  • ¾ cup Moong Dhal / பயத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
  • 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - finely chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger / இஞ்சி - finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper / மிளகு - whole
  • 3 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 10 – 15 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook moong dal well
  • Cook oats well separately until soft
  • Heat ghee in a pan
  • Add cumin, ginger, green chili, curry leaves, black pepper, asafoetida and cashews fry for few secs
  • Now add the cooked oats and moong dal
  • Add salt and mix well
  • Cook for a few mins, add little water if needed
  • Serve it with coconut chutney
