Onion Blossom
Ingredients
- 3 nos Onion, Big / வெங்காயம், பெரியது
- ½ cup All Purpose flour
- ½ cup Milk / பால்
- 1 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள் - adjust to your spice level
- 1 tsp Garlic paste / பூண்டு விழுது
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala
Instructions
- Peel off skins from the onion
- Chop off the tip, leaving the root part intact
- Cut carefully leaving ½cm at the root part so that onion will not split
- Mix all purpose flour, red chili powder, garlic paste, garam masala, milk, salt well in a bowl until free flow consistency
- Place onion over the flour mix and spill the flour mix over onion, such that the mix is penetrates well into all the onion’s petal
- Freeze it for about 30min
- Heat oil in a vessel such that whole onion immerse into oil
- Place the onion into oil carefully fry until golden brown
- Drain oil using a kitchen towel
- Sprinkle chaat masala over the fried onion blossom
- Serve hot along with mayonnaise dip
