Ingredients
  

  • 400 gm Penne Pasta - cooked until al dente
  • 100 gm Paneer - cut and sautéed
  • 400 gm Tomato / தக்காளி - of which 1 tomato chopped, rest ground
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil / ஆலிவ் எண்ணெய்
  • 2 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 100 gm Onion / வெங்காயம் - long cut
  • 20 gm Garlic / பூண்டு - finely chopped
  • 2 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - cut
  • 1 – 2 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள் - adjust to your spice level
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 2 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Temper mustard
  • Add chana dhal, urad dhal and fry until golden brown
  • Add curry leaves, red chili and fry
  • Add garlic and sauté until raw smell goes off
  • Add onions and sauté until raw smell goes off
  • Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, red chili powder, salt
  • Add tomato and sauté until turns mushy
  • Add ground tomato and cook for 10min
  • Now add cooked penne and mix well, without breaking the penne
  • Add sautéed paneer
  • Serve hot

Notes

Variation
* Add tomato puree instead of fresh tomato
