Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Purple Yam / காவத்து - peeled n cut into small pieces
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள் - adjust to your spice level
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • 25 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 1 tbsp Besan flour / கடலை மாவு
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Temper mustard and fry curry leaves
  • Add asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chili powder and fry a little
  • Add the cut purple yam and mix well
  • Sprinkle salt, garam masala powder over it and allow it to cook in low flame until yam turns tender
  • Make a thin paste of besan
  • Add mix and cook well
  • Allow the yam to roast
  • Serve hot with rice
