Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Pumpkin / பரங்கிக் காய் - peeled n chopped
  • 2 tsp Sesame seed, Black / எள்ளு, கருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 tsp Cumin seed / சீரகம்
  • ¼ cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 3 - 4 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - adjust to your spice level
  • ½ inch ball Tamarind extract / புளிக் கரைசல்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • ½ cup Jaggery / வெல்லம் - shredded

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast sesame, channa dhal, urad dhal, dry red chili separately and allow it to cool
  • Grind above along with coconut into a smooth paste, add as little water as possible
  • Heat a pan with little water
  • Close cook pumpkin for about 5min
  • Add the ground paste, asafoetida, salt and bring to a boil
  • Add jaggery and add water if required to adjust consistency
  • Bring to a boil, stir well so that jaggery dissolves evenly

Notes

Serve hot along with rice or roti
