Spicy Potato Curry
Ingredients
- 400 gm Potato / உருளைக் கிழங்கு - cut into 1inch pieces
- 2 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - randomly chopped
- 6 pod Garlic / பூண்டு - randomly chopped
- 1 inch Ginger / இஞ்சி - randomly chopped
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள் - adjust to your spice level
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder / மல்லித் தூள்
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 100 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
Instructions
- Steam potato until soft, peal of skin (I made with skin, but not all like with skin)
- Grind onion, garlic, ginger into a smooth paste
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, salt, asafoetida and mix well
- Mix, marinate potato with masala for about 30min
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add marinated potato, cook to roast over low heat for 15~20min
- Garnish with curry leaves
Notes
Serve hot along with roti/rice
