Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Thinai Rice
  • ½ cup Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • ½ cup Moong Dhal / பயத்தம் பருப்பு
  • ½ cup Masoor dhal
  • 2 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 5 – 6 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
  • tbsp Aniseed
  • 1 cup Onion / வெங்காயம் - chopped
  • 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
  • 1 tsp Ginger / இஞ்சி - paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic / பூண்டு - paste
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்

Instructions
 

  • Soak thinai rice and dhal together for two to three hours
  • Add chopped onions, red chilles, aniseeds ,curry leaves, asafoetida to mixer and grind little coarsely
  • Grind the dhal mixture separately
  • Add salt and mix above well
  • The consistency should be neither thick nor loose
  • Heat a dosa pan pour the adai batter add little oil and cook on both sides
  • Serve with suitable side-dish
