Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 1 cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 1 cup Jaggery / வெல்லம் - grated
  • 1 nos Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய் - powdered
  • 10 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு - broken into half
  • 10 nos Raisin
  • 2 tbsp Ghee / நெய்

Instructions
 

  • Dry Roast channa dhal for 2~3min
  • Soak it for 2~3hours
  • Grind it into fine paste with out adding water
  • Steam it for about 10min by flattening it as much as possible
  • Allow it to cool and crumble it up
  • Add coconut to it and mix well
  • Heat ghee in a pan
  • Roast cashew nut, raisins until golden brown, keep aside
  • Dissolve jaggery in little water in a pan
  • Heat it over low flame, stir continuously until it gets one string consistency
  • Add the channa dhal mix little by little and stir well for about 10min until it gets to crumbled consistency
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well
  • Add hot ghee little by little
  • Add roasted cashew nuts and mix well

Notes

Variation:
You can add rice flour and/or sooji to get a crispy or dry consistency
