Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • ½ cup Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • ½ cup Fenugreek seed / வெந்தயம்
  • 1 inch Tamarind / புளி
  • 1 cup Coconut, Dry / தேங்காய் உலர்ந்தது - grated
  • 15 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - long
  • 10 nos` Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய் - round
  • ¼ cup Coriander seed / தனியா
  • 2 inch piece Cinnamon stick / லவங்கப் பட்டை
  • 8 - 10 nos Cloves / லவங்கம்
  • 5 nos Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய்
  • 7 - 8 nos Marathi Moggu
  • 3-4 nos Star Anise
  • 2 tsp Oil / எண்ணெய்

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add channa dhal, urad dhal and fry them until golden brown, keep aside
  • Add dry chili, long and round and fry them, keep aside
  • Add cloves, marathi moggu, cinnamon, star anise and fry them, keep aside
  • Fry coriander seeds and coconut, keep aside
  • Fry tamarind, keep aside
  • After all the above-fried ingredients are cooled, grind them into a coarse powder
  • Store in an airtight container
