Heat oil in a pan
Add channa dhal, urad dhal and fry them until golden brown, keep aside
Add dry chili, long and round and fry them, keep aside
Add cloves, marathi moggu, cinnamon, star anise and fry them, keep aside
Fry coriander seeds and coconut, keep aside
Fry tamarind, keep aside
After all the above-fried ingredients are cooled, grind them into a coarse powder
Store in an airtight container
