Vella Cheedai
Ingredients
- 2 cup Rice flour / அசிரி மாவு
- 2 tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- ¾ cup Jaggery / வெல்லம் - grated
- 4 tbsp Coconut / தேங்காய் - fine sliced
- 2 tsp Ginger powder, Dry / சுக்குப் பொடி
- 2 tsp Sesame seed, White / எள்ளு, வெள்ளை
- 2 nos Cardamom, Green / ஏலக்காய் - powdered
- 500 ml Oil / எண்ணெய் - to fry
Instructions
- Dry roast rice flour a little, keep aside
- Dry roast urad dhal until golden brown and grind into a fine powder
- Mix rice flour, urad dhal powder, white sesame, dry ginger powder, cardamom powder well
- Clean jaggery and dissolve in water
- Boil the syrup until it forms a ball consistency
- Pour the syrup into the flour mixture and mix well to get such a consistency that it should not have lumps, should form a shape when holding at the same
- Make 1inch balls with the above mix
- Fry them in oil under medium flame until golden brown
- Drain oil and store in an airtight container
- Serve along with coffee or tea
