Heat 1tsp oil in a pan
Add onion, garlic and sauté well, allow it to cool
Blend into coarse paste along with tomato, ginger, green chili, cardamom, clove, star anise
Heat rest of oil
Add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter
Add greed peas and cook until mushy
Add potato, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder and mix well
Pour the coarse gravy and cook until it gives bubble, add little water to adjust desired consistency
Add sour curd and mix well and allow to cook for 2min
Switch of flame and add coriander leaves
Serve hot with rice or roti
