Soak tamarind in warm water and extract pulp
Dry roast chana dhal, urad dhal, cardamoms, marati moggu, cloves, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon and dried red chillies (reserve 1nos), coriander seeds, black pepper in a pan till fragrant
Cool and grind to a powder
Heat oil in a pressure cooker
Add onion and sauté till raw smell goes off
Add onion shallot and sauté till raw smell goes off
Add tomato and sauté till mushy
Add all other vegetables and sauté
Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, masala powder, salt. coconut and mix well
Add tamarind pulp and jaggery
Add rice and thoor dhal
Add 3cups of water and mix well
Pressure cook it well
Heat ghee in a pan
Temper mustard seeds
Add red chilli, curry leaves and fry
Add cashew nuts and golden fry it
Add to the cooked bisi bela huli anna and mix well
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves
Serve hot with raita, chips, fried appalam
