Instructions
Heat butter in a pan
Closed cook onions for about 30min in very very low flame [important: by this cooking, the onions should become super soft, do not over heat]
Add sugar, mix open cook for additional 10min. [by now onions will become a bit thick syrupy texture]
Add Brussels sprouts stir fry a bit
Add vegetable broth, salt, pepper, thyme
Simmer for about 30min until Brussels sprouts become tender
Blend well, sift if required
Bring to a boil again
Notes
Serve piping hot along with little bit of sour cream on top
