Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு

Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்

cup
Sesame seed, Black / எள்ளு, கருப்பு
¼
cup
Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு

tsp
Salt / உப்பு
1
pinch
Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
Instructions
Dry roast channa dhal, urad dhal, sesame, dry red chili separately
Allow it cool
Grind dry red chili into fine powder first
Then grind channa dhal, urad dhal along with red chili powder
Then finally grind sesame
Transfer into a bowl
Add asafoetida, salt and mix well
Store in an airtight container
Serve along with idli or dosai
Notes
Variation * If you don't like dark color due to black sesame, you may use white sesame
