Soak peas in adequate water for about 4hours
Add a pinch of salt and pressure cook for 1 whistle
Drain water and keep aside
Heat oil in a pan
Add mustard and allow it to splutter
Add urad dhal and fry until golden brown
Add fresh curry leaves, dry red chili and fry well
Add peas and mix well
Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and mix well
Sauté until the residue water dries up
Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve hot
