Soak chana dhal in enough water for 2hrs
Drain water and pressure cook for 2~3 whistles with 3cups of water [Grains should be cooked but not get mashed]
Add asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chili powder, amchur powder, garam masala powder, sugar and salt into cooked dhal
Stir well and add little water if required
Cook in low flame for 10min till a gravy consistency is reached
Heat ghee in a pan
Add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter
Add green chili and sauté for a min
Add curry leaves, asafoetida and sauté
Add the sautéd mixture into dhal
Stir well
Serve hot along with Sindhi Pakwan
