Add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter
Add red chili, coconut, curry leaves, fresh coriander, asafoetida and sauté well
Add water and allow it to boil
Add ground coarse powder little by little into boiling water and mix thoroughly without forming lumps
Simmer the flame and close the pan with a lid for 2~3min and allow it to cook
Switch off the flame and allow it to cool for sometime
Take about 1tbsp of above mix and flatten it to make a circular shape just like a cutlet and shallow fry it both sides
Serve hot with coconut chutney and/or mint chutney
Notes
Variation
* If you are calorie conscious, you could skip the shallow frying part and make a ball with 1tbsp of mix and steam it like idli
