Grind urad dhal into fine batter
Grind rice into little coarse batter
Mix them well along with salt
Leave it closed for about 8~10hours for it to ferment
Add onion, carrot, fresh coriander, green chili and mix well
Heat kuzhi paniyaram pan fill it with little oil for frying
Keep the flame in medium
Pour spoonful of batter into each shallow space (kuzhi)
Turn the appam upside down with a stick, so that it will cook and fry the other side too evenly
Once appam turns golden brown on both sides remove from the pan and store hot
Serve hot with coconut or coriander chutney
