Instructions
Heat oil in a pan
Add small onion, sauté for 2min
Add urad dhal, black pepper, coriander seed, fenugreek seed, dry red chili, fresh curry leaves, fry them until golden brown
Switch off the heat, add coconut, mix well, allow it to cool
Grind into fine paste by adding little water
Preparation
Add raw banana, tamarind extract, turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder into a saucepan, bring to boil, then simmer until banana is cooked well
Add ground masala, add water if required to adjust consistency
Tempering
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Add mustard and allow it to crackle, add urad dhal, channa dhal, curry leaves, fry a bit
Add it to pulingari
Garnish with coriander leaves
Notes
Serve hot with hot rice or roti
