Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Rice / அரிசி - soaked for 6hours
  • cup Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு - soaked for 6hours
  • 1 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - finely chopped
  • ½ cup Carrot / காரெட் - grated
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - finely chopped
  • 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
  • 400 ml Oil / எண்ணெய் - for frying

Instructions
 

  • Grind urad dhal into fine batter
  • Grind rice into little coarse batter
  • Mix them well along with salt
  • Leave it closed for about 8~10hours for it to ferment
  • Add onion, carrot, fresh coriander, green chili and mix well
  • Heat kuzhi paniyaram pan fill it with little oil for frying
  • Keep the flame in medium
  • Pour spoonful of batter into each shallow space (kuzhi)
  • Turn the appam upside down with a stick, so that it will cook and fry the other side too evenly
  • Once appam turns golden brown on both sides remove from the pan and store hot
  • Serve hot with coconut or coriander chutney
