Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Peas, Dry - soak for about 8~10hrs
  • ½ cup Onion / வெங்காயம் - chopped
  • ½ cup Mango / மாம்பழம் - chhopped
  • ¼ cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - chopped
  • ¼ cup Carrot / காரெட் - thinly sliced

for Crushing

  • ½ inch piece Ginger / இஞ்சி
  • 1 tsp Fennel seed / சோம்பு
  • 2 nos Cloves / லவங்கம்
  • 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய்

for Tempering

  • 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
  • ½ tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • ½ tsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil / நல்லெண்ணெய்
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - chopped

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook soaked peas for 2~3 whistles
  • Crush ginger, green chili, fennel seeds, clove into coarse paste
  • Heat sesame oil, temper mustard, channa dhal , urad dhal and fry well
  • Add curry leaves and fry a little
  • Add crushed masala and fry well
  • Add chopped onion and fry until translucent
  • Add asafoetida, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix well
  • Add thinly chopped carrot, chopped coconut and mix well
  • Add chopped mango and mix well
  • Add cooked peas, mix and cook for about 2min
  • Garnish with coriander
